About This Project

High Point Naturalized Plantings Hawkins Landscape Architecture/TriadGarden developed 'High Point Naturalized Plantings' as a demonstration of the beauty and sustainability of landscapes that fit within their environment. This is located in the heart of High Point and features a carefully curated mix of native plants that will thrive a local climate and require little maintenance. The planting features a diverse plant palette of colorful native wildflowers, ornamental grasses, and hardy shrubs which collectively create a beautiful landscape, while also serving as habitat for local pollinators and wildlife. Our team selected hardy materials, such as local stones for pathways and natural mulch, for durability and continuity with the natural landscaping. One challenge to overcome is the topography and different soil conditions on the site. Our landscape architects devised innovative grading to create a gradual slope that moves water drainage from the plants and prevents erosion, thus promoting healthy plant growth. We even installed an irrigation system to maximize effective watering for the selected plants. The final product is a breathtaking naturalized landscape that invites exploration, but can also be an organic retreat. The overall composition of colors and textures provided the home owners a very peaceful escape which enthralled them, and they couldn't believe how beautiful their outdoor space has transformed. Overall, it is a low-maintenance landscape that provides ecological benefits, while demonstrating the quality craftsmanship and sustainable design we strive for at Hawkins Landscape Architecture/TriadGarden.
