Ganshert Nursery & Landscapes Backyard patio transformation Located in seat-of-your-pants Dane County, the 'Backyard Patio Transformation' reinvented outdoor living for a beloved Madison family at Ganshert Nursery & Landscapes. We've wanted to put our mark on this ambitious to create a fun and functional space in the back yard to make things a little more inviting, plus be somewhat usable for recreational activities for a long time. A neglected garden, and a dated, cold concrete patio. Our team accepted the challenge of redefining this space with better materials and a new age design. We chose durable, natural stone pavers which blend into the surrounding environment while being low maintenance, and guaranteed to last forever. Things like a crisp outdoor kitchen, with a built-in grill and bar seating, ideal for family get-togethers were key components of this transformation. We wanted to remember that area as being more than just a pathway to get to their hotel lobby so to enhance the atmosphere we included some custom seating walls with planters integrated in the walls that created little intimate spaces to relax and chat. We installed soft landscape lighting that illuminates the space for evening use, further creating magic. During the course of the , one of the issues faced by our team was with undulating ground as well as drainage problems. So, we graded the land with careful planning and engineering solutions that redirected the movement of the water away from the property and into non- floodable areas. This helped the space be more useful, but also to look nicer. The end product was an incredible outdoor oasis that was a perfect blend of comfort and style. Needless to say, our clients were thrilled to have a beautiful new patio that made their backyard feel like so much more than just a yard which flows as a natural extension of their home.
