About This Project

New Storage Area! The 'New Storage Area!' , completed by The Garden District, transformed practical landscaping while improving our client's property's beauty. Located in the heart of Kendall, we designed and implemented an attractive yet functional storage area for gardening tools and outdoor equipment. The storage area consisted of strong cedar wood that can withstand the elements while adding to the beauty of natural materials. We surrounded the structure with native and non-native Florida shrubs and ornamental grasses, which softened the edges of the storage area to blend visually with the shaded lush surroundings that define the area. To provide a solid foundation to the storage area, while maintaining percolation to prevent puddling water, we used permeable pavers in a patterned layout. A challenge we faced was to level the uneven site. To achieve an accessible and stable site, we graded and leveled the area to meet the slope of the yard, then carefully selected drought-tolerant plants to stabilize the area with minimal required maintenance. Ultimately, this embodied practical functionality and charm with an obvious quality landscaping solutionresulting in pure delight from our client's perspective in meeting their practical function while improving the value of their property.
