Low Water Garden by Alford's English Gardens Inc. Alford's English Gardens Inc. is excited to introduce the 'Low Water Garden,' an innovative landscaping in Southern California, serving clients in Cerritos, Huntington Beach, and Irvine. This sustainable garden was designed to exhibit beautiful, temperature and drought-resistant plants, in combination with irrigation systems to reduce the amount of water used, while still exhibiting beauty. Our design team had the challenge of converting a typical lawn into a thriving oasis, overcoming poor soil quality and drainage issues. We selected native plants, such as California lilacs and agaves, that survive well in dry conditions, while attracting pollinators. We used permeable pavers and decorative gravel to allow us to provide proper drainage in our garden design, while providing an appealing look to the garden. By adding natural stone and/or dry creek beds to the landscape we were able to add a beautiful accent while addressing water management issues. The end result was a lush landscape that not only pleased the senses but also fulfilled the client's vision of a calming environment. The attention to detail and our work qualifications produced a beautiful, low water garden that illustrated beauty, function, and environmental leadership, which ultimately left our clients from Cerritos and beyond happy thrilled with their new backyard environment.
