About This Project

Woods The "Woods ," created by Michaelangelo's Sustainable Landscape & Design, showcases the amazing allure of nature seamlessly incorporated with functional outdoor living. Located within North Metro Atlanta, this large residential estate has scenic views and dense woodlands that posed a challenge with its steep grades, We transformed the space to create a peaceful outdoor retreat with an emphasis on sustainability and native plant species. We used stone sourced locally to construct retaining walls and stone pathways to foster a natural flow with nature. As part of our design, we incorporated many native plants (including beautiful wildflowers and drought-resistant shrubs) to minimize water use and maintenance. The focal point of the was a uniquely designed seating area constructed from reclaimed wood that was also oriented to view the wooded landscape. The rain garden we installed addressed drainage issues while enhancing the beauty of the property. It improved biodiversity and minimized runoff. Our skilled team was able to overcome the challenges of varying soil conditions and cause little disturbance to existing tree roots to protect the existing ecosystem. The outcome was a beautiful combination of beauty and function. The client was beyond thrilled with how seamless their home and the natural landscape looked together. The woods also provided a wonderful space to retreat with family and friends, or to relax on their own. The Woods is yet another example of Michaelangelo's sustainable practices and quality work, and a new standard for landscape design in Alpharetta, Roswell, and beyond.
