About This Project

A Natural Tapestry by Holmes Fine Gardens Located in the heart of Fairfield County, A Natural Tapestry is a landscape designed and completed by Holmes Fine Gardens, which exemplifies our vision of using natural materials to enhance outdoor spaces for a soothing, calming retreat. This was designed for a most discerning client in Easton, and we were able to blend a variety of native plantings, hand-crafted bluestone pathways and pools of water into the existing landscape. Our design team embraced the sloping topography to create a dynamic multi-tiered garden that will provide visual interest at every level. We used local bluestone to build elegant, functional retaining walls to stabilize the slopes, add visual depth and tons of character. Guest can stroll various paths through the garden, exploring nooks and crannies, while large boulders provide room for people to sit and relax. We put a great deal of thought into the plant design, using a variety of plant species, including drought-resistant perennials and flowering shrubs that resulted in seasonal blooms. We recognized the importance of the new plantings by incorporating water, installing a new irrigation system to control water use while ensuring the plants were happy and healthy. The focal point for the entire garden came in the form of a fountain, framed with ferns, ornamental grasses, and assorted shade plants to create a retreat for the local wildlife. The sound of the water gently flowing, adds a delightful auditory layer that the family can use to unwind and enjoy the natural experience. In the end, we created a beautiful landscape that satisfied our client’s goals for the , resulting in a true natural tapestry of beauty, tranquility, and ecological sensibilities throughout the various spaces of the property. Holmes Fine Gardens was excited to provide a for a client that could be enjoyed by the entire family, and ultimately showcase our the values of quality craftsmanship and special design services in the regions we serve (i.e. Bridgeport, Norwalk, Westport).
