Renovation of a Backyard in Chamblee by SHM Landscape SHM Landscape recently completed a large renovation of a backyard located in the heart of Chamblee. This underused outdoor space was transformed into a stunning outdoor oasis. It was critically important that we improve both function and aesthetics of the outdoor space, allowing it to become an inviting space for gatherings or simply relaxing. The backyard renovation included the installation of a gorgeous paver patio made of high-quality green materials that adhered to the natural landscape of the yard. To offset the hardscapes, we used soft, native plantings with flowering perennial color and ornamental grass to add seasonal interest while remaining low-maintenance. Additionally, the design incorporated a fire pit as a focal point of the yard, providing excellent seating for enjoying evenings in the backyard or around a campfire. One of the more significant challenges of the backyard renovation was the slope of the yard. To address the slope, creative grading solutions were provided to allow for drainage and accessibility. While our talented team was leveling the area, we created a design that allows for the natural slope of your yard and retains the natural contour. It has the added benefit of decreasing erosion and enhancing useability. Overall, the final product was spectacular. The backyard is now a harmonious mix of hardscaping and softscaping that creates a layout for outdoor living. The client was very pleased with the outcome of the .
