Backyard of the Chicago Residence (Greenwise Organic Lawn Care and Landscape Design) Greenwise Organic Lawn Care and Landscape Design took an under-used courtyard space in the midst of Chicago and helped transform it into a breathtaking urban oasis. The 'Chicago Backyard' is a great example of our commitment to quality craftsmanship and sustainable landscaping. This comprised of an outdoor living space which needed to meet specific functional requirements while still aesthetic in nature. Facing site challenges of different soil types and no sunlight, we began our work as a team with a site analysis. We used high quality organic materials such as local stone pavers for the patio, wood for raised garden beds, and ensuring long-lasting life and harmony with nature. This design incorporated a soothing water feature for calming atmosphere and a diverse bevy of Chicago climate-approved native plants to boost biodiversity while reducing maintenance. The custom built pergola provides both shade and the structural elements the space needs for entertaining or quiet contemplation. Using the initial inspiration as a guideline, the team maneuvered through unforeseen challenges, incorporating cohesive design to ensure a seamless installation despite working with existing conditions including hardscape and harsh terrain. The end product was an amazing facelift that thrilled our clients who now call their backyard a life-filled part of their house. Greenwise Organic Lawn Care and Landscape Design has once again shown, through the utmost care and thoughtfulness of design and hard work, that we can enjoy both functional landscapes that perfectly fill the needs of our clients in the Chicago area and beyond while still valuing sustainability and environmental conscious practices.
