This set out to solve chronic drainage problems impacting the client's property in sunny St. Louis, while also beautifying the site. At the heart of this is a beautiful permeable stone path, which looks gorgeous but also works to manage water runoff. Our team chose the finest locally-sourced flagstone for its characteristics of endurance and refined beauty. The natural browns of the stone blended in with the surrounding landscape, matching the components of the existing garden beautifully. This gave us a fair amount of challenges as well with left-to-right creating uneven terrain and soil that was compacted in various places. Using proven grading practices, our team was able to correctly pitch the home for water to flow in the right direction, away from the home foundation to drainage channels we strategically placed. This helped minimize flooding and conserves the surrounding landscape. The end product was a beautiful walkway that smoothly walks you through the gorgeously lush garden, creating a slip-resistant surface for the safety of those strolling by. The arrangement of natural stone in a beautiful manner added to the elegance of the outdoor area. The job was finished, and the happy customer not only enjoyed the different look of the walkway, but also the proper drainage system it ensured.
