About This Project

South Russell - ONeill Landscape Design and Installation Located in the beautiful village of South Russell, ONeill Landscape Design and Installation recently completed a landscaping that highlights our focus on quality and creativity. The task was to transform a large residential lot with an emphasis on outdoor usability while keeping the area natural. The first step was understanding the site, which presented challenges such as uneven land and very little drainage. We implemented a grading plan to alleviate any water management issues, specifically the standing water problems that quite literally plagued the property. We used beautiful, quality materials to build an amazing, multi-level stone terrace with flagstone sourced locally, which not only creates the aesthetics desired, but also ties in beautifully with the land. We also built a custom fire pit, again with very nice materials and surrounded the fire pit with native plantings to create an inviting outdoor area for the homeowners and their visitors. The plantings were a mixture of perennials and ornamental grasses that were selected based off seasonal interest and low-maintenance requirements. We, also, thoughtfully placed lighting fixtures to glow along the pathways to highlight key features in the landscape to provide charm to the home as it came to dusk. We knew we were going to be challenged to finish this within tight deadlines, and with unreliable weather, however with planning and hard work we were able to generate the on time, and on budget. The end result was an absolutely stunning outdoor living area. It was aesthetically pleasing and functional, and the clients were thrilled we were able to bring their vision to life.
