Micro Garden by KGK Gardening & Design Corp Located in the center of Akron. The 'Micro Garden' demonstrates the art and skill of KGK Gardening & Design Corp. This garden took a very small outdoor space and turned it into a lush, green oasis ideal for an urban lifestyle. The utilized a range of indigenous plants including grasses and flowering perennials to create a planted piece of sustainable landscape that would survive through the seasons for clientele. The client invested in premium quality materials that had a beneficial environmental value (i.e. permeable pavers and reclaimed wood) that made the landscape sophisticated in design. How to deal with drainage issues was one of the primary challenges; rain garden technology is intended to be absorbed into a water system that reduces rain runoff while providing pollinating space for beneficial insects. We ensured that the plant selection and design provided for the use of a drip irrigation system to water its plant life while conserving water. The outcome was a beautiful micro garden that demonstrated an exciting functionality while being pleasurable to the eye. The client was thrilled the addition of colors, textures resting, and an overall appealing ambiance within the designed garden.
