The total backyard renovation involved a combination of natives plants, hardscaping, and usable outdoor living space. We began by evaluating the previous landscape, identifying areas to enhance, and designing an overall layout of aesthetics and usability. Of course, we used the most durable materials available - we used local travertine pavers to construct pathways within the backyard, which provided stability and durability, while also providing sophistication in aesthetic appeal. The also included the installation of a multi-layered garden featuring a wide variety of flowering plants to provide lush greenery (that required minimal maintenance and were native to the region). There was slight terrain in the backyard, however, we stepped or terraced landscape that added visual interest and natural drainage to the garden area. As the landscaping was coming together, we designed a custom outdoor kitchen and dining space to accompany the new beauty of the landscaping, which was designed as a space to enjoy entertaining family and friends. We constructed the kitchen using materials for weather resistance to maintain quality and reduce maintenance. Lastly, we accented the garden using outdoor lights that highlighted points of interest in the landscape and allowed the homeowners to enjoy their new outdoor oasis even after the sun went down. The final outcome was a stunning backyard oasis that made the homeowners happy, and allowed for an enjoyable outdoor experience, or just a relaxing space to unwind. Important takeaways certainly included design, quality experience, and attention to every detail.
