Complete Landscape Renovation by Pleasant Landscapes Pleasant Landscapes is pleased to announce the conclusion of our 'Complete Landscape Renovation' , a process which redefined the outdoor living experience for our client in beautiful Charleston. This end-to-end renovation involved a number of landscaping components geared to enhance function and beauty. This renovation included the redesign of both front and back yard spaces which included use of native plants, long-lasting hardscapes, and sustainable materials. We selected a colorful pallet of local plants with textures and colors that are beautiful throughout the year while providing opportunities for creating biodiversity consisting of ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs, and drought tolerant perennials. The hardscapes included the use of permeable pavers to create the walkways which not only blended well into the landscape but also help with the recognition of stormwater management; especially with our coastal land use properties. A significant challenge with the was the uneven topography taken into consideration along with lack of proper drainage which left the property saturated after heavy rains. Our team of professionals went to work to level the land surface, install additional French drains, and create swales to retain and redirect water. Water retention and redirecting is always the first goal for the gravel material surficial devices that were included to get proper drainage to the property. This helped with the drainage along the property completely and started the process of supporting the new landscaping features. In creating space for outdoor living, we built an inviting patio of natural stones that is conducive to entertaining or relaxing. The clients also chose a custom-built pergola for shade creation, and we put in a fire pit as a gathering place for friends and family. Additionally, soft outdoor lighting was installed to enhance the overall experience of the new outdoor living space and the landscape upon sunset. This Complete Landscape Renovation ended with a beautiful, cohesive outdoor living space that blends perfectly into the existing landscape. The clients expressed how the complete renovation made a huge impact on their living space because of the increased curb appeal - and the landscape provided a serene escape for the family as well!
