About This Project

A Naturalistic Garden Retreat Garden Angels Landscape Design & Consulting is thrilled to announce the completion of "A Naturalistic Garden Retreat," which consisted of a complete backyard landscaping renovation set in Salem, Oregon. The was designed as a restful oasis that blends into the environment and serves as a peaceful getaway for the homeowners. The team started with performing an extensive site analysis to better understand the site's unique topography and existing plants. With this information, the team developed a landscape plan that encapsulated native plants with an intention of sustainability and low maintenance. To complement plants, the team procured high-quality materials such as stone sourced from within 20 miles of the site for stone walkways and natural wood for raised garden beds, which worked seamlessly together with the lush plants. One of the largest problems with this site was the uneven terrain, which posed challenges for proper grading and drainage. The installation team successfully mitigated these hurdles by introducing a tiered design that enhanced aesthetics and provided for improved water runoff in the garden beds and the site as a whole in preparation for heavy rains. The end result is a stunning garden retreat, which includes meandering thick mulch pathways, colorful flower beds, and inspirational seating that encourages contemplation and relaxation. The addition of a small pond which features quality aquatic plants establishes an active habitat for wildlife, adding to the overall ecosystem. The homeowners were ecstatic, expressing how happy they were with the thoughtful consideration for detail and the artistry introduced in their outdoor space.
