This is in the heart of Downers Grove and exemplifies our commitment to creating less invasive outdoor spaces and restoring the land to become as natural as possible. The design includes a high-tech, freeform swimming pool bordered by native plant landscaping, allowing the pools to meld into the surrounding ecosystem. To complement that organic feel of the pool, our team desired quality materials that would be low maintenance and durable, so they chose sustainable products, including natural stone coping and eco-friendly pavers. Due to the placement of the pool into an already sloped backyard I think one of the biggest challenges for us was the fact that the ground underneath it had to be dug out. The area was graded in tiers by our experienced landscapers, which helped with drainage and made the yard more visually appealing. We added a waterfall feature, which sounds pleasant and serves as an excellent focal point, providing a natural ambiance between the boulders from local sources. Surrounding the pool is an oasis of shaded, lush planting beds filled with a diversity of perennials, all to be drought tolerant and pollinator-friendly plants, allowing for great seasonal blooms but restricting water use. The well planned use of flowering perennials and ornamental grasses serves as both screening and helps establish a peaceful refuge for the family. After completion, this happy client praised as his design matched their vision of a holiday oasis on his property & added to the overall values on the property overall.
