Meriam Hill Estate Timothy Lee Landscape Design is excited to reveal the amazing Meriam Hill Estate ; a testament to our goal of bringing great landscape design to the Greater Boston area. Located on a beautiful site, the focused on forming an outdoor sanctuary that would complement the architectural proportions of the estate while surprising its users. The started by conducting a thorough analysis of the site context identifying the unique topography and existing vegetation. Our team identified a challenge of creating a collection of outdoor space while working with the natural topography of the site. Our approach involved utilizing quality materials including local stone straight from local sources for the retaining walls, steps, and pathways; and creating a series of connected garden areas that provide an urge to explore. The highlight of the features an expertly built patio from high-end bluestone where just outside the family and guests can congregate. To give the visual effect of the space, lovable native plantings were paired with the patio to create softening around the patio base. The plantings adhered to deep-rooted native perennials resistant to droughts, keeping blooms in season and conserving water including when summer arrived. To address drainage issues, we made a creative rain garden to capture runoff while providing nourishment for plantings surrounding the area. The rain garden provides an environmentally sensitive approach to drainage while putting a form of dynamism in the overall land form. Lastly, a koi pond with a gentle water feature provides added stillness to the space to create a restful ambiance. Our client's response was overwhelmingly positive since they view the whole landscape as a new formed outdoor space that connect with their family lifestyle.
