Northwood Hills Residence by LandPatterns, Inc. Located in the tranquil bounds of Northwood Hills, this residential landscaping by LandPatterns, Inc. demonstrates the blending of natural beauty and functional design. Serving the Dallas metropolitan area and its affluent neighborhoods, Highland Park, Oak Lawn, Richardson, and University Park, our team was able to transform a site to enhance aesthetic appeal and usability. The design included a palette of carefully selected native plants, drought tolerant shrubs, and seasonal flowers, all chosen for their resilience and low maintenance. An elegant stone path made of locally quarried limestone, meanders through the dense gardens providing both structure and sense of adventure. An attractive water element not only serves as a desirable visual focal point, but also adds calming sound and atmosphere making the retreat suitable for relaxation. One of the more challenging site conditions was the sloped topography of the residence, which required some deft grading and drainage solutions to avoid erosion and help the landscape last. Our team developed a series of terraced beds to accommodate drainage and at the same time add some dimension and interest overall. The final result was an expressive outdoor space that fulfilled the goals of the client, who wanted a peaceful space but also said they wanted a “fun party space.” In addition to seating, tasteful lighting was implemented into the design, along with an irrigation plan. The Northwood Hills Residence is emblematic of the craftsmanship and commitment to quality of work that LandPatterns, Inc. strives for in all our client relationships. In addition to increasing property value, the landscape created a personal sanctuary for the family and restored a stronger connection to nature.
