Dry Creek Bed by Zach's Lawn & Landscaping Zach's Lawn & Landscaping is proud to present the "Dry Creek Bed" , a beautiful improvement that enhances both beauty and function for our clients in the communities of Fairway, Kansas City, Leawood, and more. The Dry Creek Bed was not just beauty, it was also a solution for managing the drainage of water while also providing natural beauty to the landscape. For the , we designed a beautiful meandering dry creek bed using natural river stones and various native plantings. The stones and planting materials were chosen for both their beauty, longevity, and low maintenance. One of the main challenges presented to the Zach's Lawn & Landscaping team was to solve the existing drainage problems that occurred on the clients property. The talented team analyzed the landscape and designed a creek bed to redirect water runoff and will not only protect against erosional damage but maintain good soil conditions in the future. We created a great grading plan to manage rainwater to flow towards the creek bed rather than pooling in areas that were not wanted. In the end we produced a magnificent dry creek bed that serves as a focal point in the landscape with additional boulders, together with a diverse collection of native plants to produce areas for local wildlife. The client was very pleased with the transformation, noting that the new landscape provided greater aesthetic value as well as providing that practical solution to their drainage problems.
