Set against the tranquil shoreline of Lake Washington, this demonstrates our quality landscape creative. The scheme calls for a seamless integration of native plantings and stylish hardscapes, such as a uniquely designed stone patio to be used as a communal gathering space, for family and friends. The lot has a slope that was somewhat troublesome, but we creatively dealt with that issue too, introducing tiered garden beds that provide not only visual variety, but also help nicely with water runoff. To achieve both a visually striking structure that also lends lots of structural integrity we built a retaining wall made from high-quality material including locally sourced stones and handpicked sustainable hardwoods. Seasonal flowers and foliage become the hallmark of this planting scheme, assuring year-round beauty and ecological balance. In keeping with the client specification for sustainable planting the designers chose drought resistant plantings wherever possible to keep water and maintenance to a minimum for the garden. The end product is an awe-inspiring landscape that not only boosts the beauty of the property but also increases its utility so the family can maximize the enjoyment of their waterfront getaway. The clients were over the moon with results, as they had hoped that the design would enhance the beauty of the area, while providing a four season escape that is on par to all modern conveniences.
