About This Project

Beach Landscape Design Designed and installed by Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design, our Beach Landscape Design in Virginia Beach is a showcase for coastal elegance infused with functional outdoor living spaces. The goal of this was to transform a sandy, bland yard into a peaceful beachside retreat. Our team carefully designed a solution that reflects the beauty of the beach surroundings. The design included an attractive collection of native plants to incorporate not just environmental benefits but natural beauty and durability against coastal winds. Native plants included sea oats and beach roses. The design also included natural stone paths which wind elegantly through the tropical landscape to the fire pit area created for entertaining and relaxing by the beach. The application of permeable paver paths offered longevity and drainage; a common concern with coastal properties in the event of heavy rain which can lead to erosion and flooding. As with most beach property designs, one of the challenges is managing the sandy soil composition. We made organic amendments to improve conditions for plant growth to obtain a natural performance. An irrigation system was installed to accommodate the environmental needs, conserve water usage and facilitate eco-based landscaping. The end result is a stunning outdoor space which is complementary to the coastal seaside area. The landscape is filled with colors, textures, and sustainable needs for the outdoor . The owners came away with a beautiful beach landscape which increased the curb appeal and developed an outdoor space for them to enjoy the beauty of Virginia Beach.
