Outdoor Vista Flips from Yawn to Wow for Avid Entertainer by E2 Illumination Designs #6 #6: Highlighting the artistry and craftsmanship of E2 Illumination Designs in the heart of University Park The brief was to develop a highly sophisticated yet tranquil outdoor sanctuary that would act as a retreat from the busy nature of modern living. We started-off with a site evaluation which was particularly interesting as the site itself had many site-specific constraints such as the slope of the land and the fact that the natural sun was blocked off by many tall structures around. To solve those issues we designed a tiered landscaping that not only made the best use of space but also improved light conditions. A beautiful display of native plants providing seasonal color and sustainable site material installations were planned utilizing local judgmental quality materials. Nestled in the garden, digestive track boulders rest beneath natural tasting wind, which is carried down a custom flagstone pathway guiding visitors through the lush vegetation and habitat that they have created & a gentle water feature provides splashes of sound to round out this outdoor living space. Low voltage led lighting was used to accent the home and landscape to create a focal point in the evenings to bring the space to life. Outcome: A sustainable and durable irrigation system that encourages healthy plant growth while being water wise. We knew that the garden needed to be developed carefully with warm seasons, cool seasons and pollinators in mind so the garden matured into this vibrant ecosystem. At completion, the homeowners expressed what a wonderful transformation the space had made, becoming a refuge for alone time and a wonderful lively entertainment area for family and friends.
