Summary: Jersey City Chic The 'Jersey City Chic' landscaping completed by Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction Group has transformed this urban property into a unique outdoor space in the urban climate of Jersey City. This urban oasis ties modern living with nature in a cohesive outdoor space that melds seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. The newly created landscape is an artfully laid out approach to using native foliage, stone paths, and an outdoor living space for multifaceted use. We used high-grade materials, locally sourced bluestone paving, and reclaimed lumber for each of the raised garden beds to ensure a solid, lasting, and sustainable work. The softscape introduced ornamental grasses and flowering perennials with higher contrasts to the hardscapes to keep the area visually engaging throughout all four seasons. One of the obstacles we faced with this was the restricted area of such a great asset that prompted us to devise and invent thoughtful elements of functionality in an urban . Our team easily developed these ideas through vertical gardening and using every square inch of space to plant. The final plan married both aesthetic and functionality with a charming fire pit area as a gathering point and integrated lighting to allow the evening to be enjoyed. Our client was extremely satisfied with their space and thoroughly enjoyed the thought and detail put into the planning that their outdoor living space had become a chic distraction in the city.
