Our Work by Big Fish Landscaping At Big Fish Landscaping, we're proud to create outdoor experiences that are aesthetically pleasing and practical. Our most recent , entitled "Our Work," exemplifies our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction on this based in Gardnerville, Gardnerville Ranchos, Genoa, Johnson Lane, Kingsbury, and Minden. This comprehensive landscaping began with a consultation to learn the client’s vision, with the aim of creating a harmonious outdoor retreat that was functional for relaxation and entertainment, and supported the natural landscape of the property. The challenge with this was with the slope, which created a need for creative design efforts to ensure correct water drainage, and stability of the soil and landscape. The experienced crew used retaining walls made of natural stone (locally sourced material) to create vertical tiers that delivered functionality in the use of the space while adding visual interest to the maintenance of the property. The design also required that a variety of drought tolerant plants were included, delivering a burst of color through the seasons. There was an emphasis to plant native plants as a method toward sustainability, environmental friendliness, and to support sound practices with respect to water usage, which is an advantage for much of our local wildlife, in order to become more accustomed to contractors and the design process. As part of the finished , a rain permeable path was created using permeable pavers, so that rain water could filter through the path, can reduce run-off, and maintain overall environmental integrity of the property and garden. We completed the outdoor oasis with a water feature that serves as the centerpiece and an ambience of calm with the sound of moving water; a great way to relax after a long day. Furthermore, we created soft landscape lighting to uplight focal points in the dusk and evening hours for functionality and security. All of our attention to detail and craft led to a property that exceeded the client’s expectations. "Our Work" changed the landscape to a space where family and friends can gather and make memories while relaxing. The client was happy and had told us that Big Fish Landscaping was able to take their idea to a finish in a meaningful way that was practical and beautiful, and most of all that they understood that their new outdoor space would be there for them to enjoy for many years to come!
