Since 2019 marks the 24th anniversary of Chicago Specialty Gardens we thought it might a be a good idea to reflect a little on the journey in designing and installing Chicago gardens. CSG – Based in Chicago, Illinois, CSG is an award-winning, full-service urban garden design/build firm. These are specialists urban garden design, construction and assembly. When we design, we think about entire spaces, and we take the multi-disciplinary team that translates our thinking into reality. CSG started in 1993 as a part-time Chicago gardening design & installation business by Phil Cleland and was incorporated in 1995 after exploding in size. Many lessons have been learned in the intervening years, and a credit to many people has helped to bring CSG to its current form. All of us have put in some work, had some great clients and gotten lucky. We aim to be the best full service urban garden design/build firm in Chicago – to conduct our business with integrity and respect for our employees, clients, suppliers and mother nature. We use specialists from a multitude of different fields to marry our creative visions and ground them in both artistry and function for your gardens. Its a great city to work in, Chicago. In particular our rooftop garden installations over the past few years reignite our love for the skyline of our city, and for our sun, and air, and weather, and all of the garden/ habitat/ living space above the city.
