About This Project

Huron Aerie One of our crown jewels completes a 'Huron Aerie' in Lake Forest by Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. In combining traditional landscape architecture with functional outdoor living and additional artistry that satisfies the needs of our discerning clientele, this expansive landscape design is as much our love for nature as it is the beauty of the designed landscape. A blend of native plantings and selected ornamental trees, the offers visual appeal through all seasons while fostering local biodiversity. While a jaw-dropping custom limestone patio, neatly flowing into the topography that surrounds it, anchors outdoor entertainment. The use of permeable pavers not only beautifies the landscape but also handles drainage issues making it sustainable for controlling water system. The most problems for this were changes to the topography and lack of coherent elevation transitions. A series of accessible levels adds visual interest with the help of our amazing team who terraced the surrounding landscape. Natural stone retaining walls not only addressed these elevation issues but, simultaneously, provided structural support and rustic differences. We then finished off the peaceful space with soft landscape lighting and a custom-made water feature with slowly trickling water which provides a nice audio without being obtrusive. Areas to sit amidst the greenery creates a space to relax, either alone or with family or friends, contemplate, read, or simply watch the seasons change. Although brimming with dramatic detail, the end result of Huron Aerie is a cohesive landscape that both impresses and delivers on clients expectations for beauty and function. As you can see, this vision of a home was turned into reality by Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. Turning the home into a glorious site to sit outdoors with delight for the years to come.
