Situated in downtown Chicago, this converted a standard pool area into a beautiful sanctuary, a place to relax and a place to entertain. One of the biggest challenges our team faced was the limited footprint and access, which opened up a design opportunity. In order to make an aesthetically pleasing, functional pool deck we chose quality materials such as natural stone pavers for the deck and composite decking that never need to be stained or replaced. Eco-friendly and permeable pavers improve drainage while maintaining a sustainable landscaping practice, an integral part of Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. Flaunting a custom-built lounge furniture system that is all weather tolerant, the has an elegant sunbathing space. The lush greenery consists of mostly native plants as well as specific ornamental grasses, planted around the pool for both serenity and privacy from nearby homes. LED lighting features you will find throughout the landscaping, creating a magical setting for evening meetings. With our water management plan in place we had to contend with an uneven surface at points and infrastructure in the way which our experienced team got over with their plan in place to grade the land to ensure runoff was dealt with and the overall look was better than what they started with. The end result is an integrated and approachable space that wows the client with equal doses of functionality and beauty.
