Whimsical Landscape Design by Prairie Path Group The Whimsical Landscape Design , for Prairie Path Group, located in La Grange, is a perfect example of the power that high-quality landscaping and innovative design can bring to an outdoor space. This area was designed to feel connected to and complement the existing architecture, while being playful yet polished. This featured striking native plantings, which included eye-catching flowering perennials and ornamental grasses that were selected specifically for their ability to survive in the local microclimate, while providing year-round visual interest. A meandering stone path, built using locally-sourced flagstone, provides many opportunities to lead visitors through garden nooks, where whimsical sculptures and seating areas await. One of the design challenges we had to overcome was the steep slope of the property. We had to think creatively to solve for drainage and capabilities for working on a slope. As such, we designed multi-level flower beds, together with a custom retaining wall, as a way to create visual interest, while addressing drainage concerns. Overall, the has created a whimsical and other-worldly landscape that adds to the curb appeal of the property and provides a sanctuary for the homeowner. The combination of textures and colors, together with high-quality materials, demonstrates the Prairie Path Group's commitment to quality.
