Four Seasons Facility Location: Stowe, Vermont Landscape Architect: Attanasio Landscape Architecture Located in the multiple surrounding neighborhoods of Blue Diamond and Las Vegas, and still beyond, the responsive 'Four Seasons' from Attanasio Landscape Architecture showcases the melding of nature and design. Over the years, we took the complete landscaping approach turning an enormous residential landscape into a four-season retreat that highlights the beauty of each season. This sustainable, ornamental design includes a wide variety of native and drought-resistant plants. Spring brings lush, flowering perennials, and bold fall foliage adds a welcoming atmosphere. Natural stone pathways, reclaimed wood accents, and custom-made water features of high-quality materials are used to impart a sense of sophistication and gracefulness to the space. The first difficulty we faced during the was the difference in the land topography. Attanasio Landscape Architecture tackled this with multi-level garden beds and retaining walls that created perfect drainage combined with soil retention. This consideration not only avoided potential erosion problems, but also generated dynamic views across the landscape. The centerpiece of the 'Four Seasons' exercise is the beautiful four-season garden meant to convey a sensory experience that changes with the seasons. Featuring fragrant hedges of lavender, beds of tulips, and a koi pond, the space was designed to encourage peace and tranquility. The end result was a delighted client, with functional spaces beautifully integrated into the landscape-from a Sophie style outdoor dining area in anchoring shaded retreats. The Four Seasons is truly a representation of what Attanasio Landscape Architecture stands for; quality, creativity, and a happy client, all while providing a beautiful landscape experienced year round.
