Edna Street Landscapes by Urban Botanics: Urban Botanics officially welcomes you to enjoy the finished landscape we have envisioned and executed for the spectacular home on Edna Street located in sunny Oakland. Our goal was to create a welcoming outdoor retreat that is functional yet visually pleasing while improving the curb appeal of the home. The began with an onsite consultation to understand the client's aesthetic vision and lifestyle needs. Additionally, we discussed the challenges of working with a sloped site, as well as existing drainage problems. Our team set out to address each of these challenges through a tiered garden, accentuated by high-quality, naturally sourced retaining walls that provide stability and a distinctly rustic look that the client appreciated. We also chose abundant native flowering plants that would flourish in the Bay Area, providing ecological resumes on plant selection for ease of maintenance, sustainability, and longevity. Carefully selected flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and countless perennials will ensure a static and vibrant show of color and texture through all seasons. We also included a beautiful, custom-built paver patio for outdoor gatherings while allowing for smaller seating opportunities along a new fire pit surrounded by lush landscaping. Lastly, integrated water features highlighted the entirety of this . A beautiful pond, aquatically engaged with thoughtful plant selection, and a bubbling fountain worked together providing ambiance, tranquility, and habitat for local wildlife. The outcome is a stunning landscape that meets practical client needs while improving expectations of aesthetics. Edna Street demonstrates Urban Botanics’ quality craftsmanship and innovation in design, while turning challenges into opportunities for beauty.
