About This Project

16th Ave by Urban Botanics Urban Botanics is excited to share our landscaping , '16th Ave!', which features a design that balances the world of modern and natural beauty in Oakland. This reflects our innovation and quality-based approach to design for a stylish client to enliven their backyard. The intent of '16th Ave' was to change an ordinary urban yard space into an inviting and luxurious environment. We meticulously designed an elegant landscape that incorporates layers in plant materials that include eco-friendly and drought-resistant plants, native plants for added biodiversity, and seasonal blooms for color and ambiances. We used permeable pavers to help the area drain correctly, all while providing a pleasing visual through the pathways. One of the main difficulties of the site condition, which Urban Botanics creatively worked around, was the grade change across the property. Conveniently, terraced planting beds provided an agreeable way to incorporate this grade variety into a unique, yet utilizing an effective soil building and irrigation system. We used high-end materials, including reclaimed wood for raised garden beds and local stone for an epic wall. We felt that these materials were significant for their durability and environmental-friendly building. The standout feature of the includes a custom-built pergola that is full of climbing vines that provide shade and intimacy. For the client, this area is a perfect area to entertain or simply relax and get away nothing is better than a safe, fun summer outdoor space. The solid light fixtures strategically located in the landscape provide extra enjoyment to the beauty of '16th Ave' after sunset. At the end of , the client reported their delight in the transformation of their property into a unique space that not only beautified their property, but now provided them space and function for gathering with family. '16th Ave' is an example of Urban Botanics professional expertise within the landscaping elements to develop s that reflect the natural building façade that engages with the environment.
