About This Project

West Seattle Arbor Garden by Terra Design Located in the West Seattle area, the West Seattle Arbor Garden is an excellent example of Terra Design's passion for quality landscaping. This involved the total reconstruction of an underused back garden space into a peaceful retreat for outdoor living and entertaining. A beautiful suite of flowering native plants and shrubs were incorporated into the design to enhance natural beauty as well as bolster the regional scope of biodiversity. A high-end irrigation system with reclaimed rainwater was also incorporated into the design for aesthetics and sustainability to encourage a sustainable and lush landscape. A striking feature of the Arbor Garden is a custom-made wooden pergola made from ethically sourced cedar. The pergola enhances the space both as an attractive shelter and outdoor dining area. In addition, it connects the indoor and outdoor spaces where planted perennial flower beds and boulders offer transition to outdoor living. During the construction, our team faced challenges operating on uneven terrain with limited access due to existing structures. However, through innovation and planning, we found routine solutions that leveled the terrain and added terraced planting beds while still balancing functionality and appealing architecture. In the end, our completed product demonstrated a beautiful, seamless transition from the neighbors yard and the house garden, leaving the client exceedingly pleased with the result. The West Seattle Arbor Garden showcases the commitment of our firm to quality work and creative landscaping solutions, serving as both an exceptional private space and genuine enhancement to the community ecosystem.
