About This Project

Mediterranean Oasis by Terra Design Located in Seattle, 'Mediterranean Oasis' is a visual representation of a landscaping s by Terra Design for the surrounding Ballard, Beacon Hill and Mercer Island communities. This showcased our construction craft and utmost custom landscape design, by taking a classic city backyard landscape and providing the customer with a Mediterranean getaway. The includes a variety of native plants, drought resistant plants and scented herbs such as rosemary and lavender incorporated with bougainvillea and plentiful olive trees to replicate a sun-soaked coastal feel. The focal point includes a custom designed stone path out of local travertine stone that creates a path to a relaxing patio space decorated with old world terracotta pots. The patio space is a perfect gathering spot for entertaining with a custom built pergola covered in climbing vines for added shade and beauty. One challenge we faced was the steep slope of the property prompting a creative terracing process to create flat planting and sitting areas. Our team of skilled labor used natural boulders and reclaimed wood to create a rustic retaining wall solution that is incorporated permanently into the yard for both function and stabilized aesthetic solutions. The outcome is striking and relaxing, while providing a space for entertaining customers. The clients really appreciated the ease of both ambiance and functionality of the to have outdoor space to enjoy year around! With spectacular features and an experience to unwind, 'Mediterranean Oasis' is another example of Terra Design's craft and ability to create experiences and landscapes!
