About This Project

Lake View Residence by Terra Design: The Lake View Residence , located at a peaceful lakeside, showcases Terra Design's excellence in landscape architecture. Serving the neighborhoods of Ballard, Beacon Hill, Mercer Island, and Seattle, our team took on the challenge of transitioning a large lakefront property into a seamless blend of nature and luxury. The included many carefully selected landscaping items, including a custom locally-sourced bluestone patio, which seamlessly transitions from the natural terrain into a beautiful space to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. The use of native plants such as rhododendrons and ferns also elevated the aesthetic while supporting local plant systems. In addition, a soothing and calming water feature that includes a waterfall was installed to maintain a constant connection to the ecosystem of sound through nature's chirping and gurgling. One of the challenges we overcame was the steep slope to the lake. Our team engineered levels of terraced gardens providing stability, erosion control, and viewpoints throughout the property. The use of reclaimed timber led to rustic character, while also being more sustainable. The final result is a beautiful landscape that not only satisfies the client's aesthetic needs but also acts as an extension of their living space. With functional areas for entertaining outdoors, a selection of native plants, and design elements informed by thoughtful design solutions, this is a peaceful oasis that the clients love.
