The first step was a full site analysis in which we recorded identifying characteristics as well as obstacles, like a slope or a tree. Our expert staff developed a landscape design, featuring a colorful selection of native plants, flowering beds, and placemaking hardscaping. Arguably the most impressive feature here is the custom stone pathway made from locally sourced flagstone. Beyond being the functional path through the garden, this pathway becomes a visual tether, guiding visitors through verdant gardens bursting with the colors of the seasons. Different textures and heights were chosen with a selection of ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs and perennial blooms for year-round interest. One challenge of the particular site in terms of drainage led us to include an elegant dry creek bed that describes the movement of water across the landscape while simultaneously creating a natural look. To enhance this aspect, boulders and native river stones were introduced to create visual and physical structural elements and a tranquil environment for exploration. The end result: a beautiful outdoor escape that makes the clients happy while allowing Dalton's landscape to shine.
