This started with an extensive site analysis that took into account the conditions of the land including grade and drainage. With the design, our team made a great use of native plants which are appropriate for the current climate and local wildlife, and require minimal irrigation. We chose a mix of plantsnative wildflowers, ornamental grasses and deep-rooted shrubsknown for their ability to soak up stormwater. In an effort to increase the functional nature of the garden we used Permeable Pavers to create a beautiful pedestrian path that not only seamlessly integrates into the landscape, but lets rainwater infiltrate into the ground and replenish the groundwater reservoir. Such design helps to prevent erosion as well as promotes proper run-off to preserve the local ecosystem. To build this garden, our team ran into various hurdles along the way, like not just the unevenness of the land, but even the invasive species that already existed on the plot of land that challenged the integrity and home of the garden obstructing its greatness. After careful preparations and delays, we executed a detailed plan for the eradication of so many of these invasive plant species as well as aligning the land into a level grade for the new landscape. What you end up with is an attractive, functional rain garden that complements the property very nicely. The customer was very happy with the results and told us she loved how the garden strikes a perfect balance between practical and visual.
