This renovation truly represents the heart of our commitment to quality workmanship and creative landscaping. Initially, we were tasked with transforming a narrow, dysfunctional side yard overwhelmed with tall weeds and obsolete features. Together, we envisioned a colorful, active space that would serve to improve the overall character of the home and provide the family with a relaxing escape. We started the renovation by completely clearing the space of weeds and debris. We introduced a combination of native plants, colorful herbaceous perennials, and hardy shrubs to enhance the landscape while minimizing maintenance. We installed a beautiful stone pathway we sourced locally, made of bluestone, to create continuity and invite strolls through this vibrant green space. We built a simple wooden trellis with climbing vines to provide some vertical interest and a sense of privacy, which enhanced the ambiance of the space. We also carefully created some subtle lighting so the space could be enjoyed at night or offered the opportunity to highlight the beauty of the landscape. The end result exceeded our client's expectations, and we created a well-designed side yard that serves as a vital extension of their home. With the abundance of plantings, enticing pathways, and new gathering spaces, we transformed a neglected side yard into a point of pride for the familya highly desired extension of their home to entertain family gatherings and reflect in solitude.
