Westchester Colonial by Renee Byers, Landscape Architect, P.C. Located in the center of Greenwich, the "Westchester Colonial" landscape captures the skillfulness and mastery of Renee Byers, Landscape Architect, P.C. This elegant outdoor plan responds to the home's colonial architectural style with an outdoor living space that will feel warm and welcoming while enhancing the coat of the property. The presented a thoughtful site plan that included a mix of perennial gardens, native shrubs, and ornamental trees that were selected for their hardiness in the climate and amount of seasonal interest. Reliable and beautiful premium materials like bluestone walkways and reclaimed brick patio were selected to build an intriguing and eloquent connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. One of the key challenges on this site was the slope of the landscape that warranted creative thought into how to handle draining as well as access for services. By utilizing tiered garden beds and a variety of retaining walls the landscape team not only handled these issues, but they were able to provide different levels of interest and dimension to the overall landscape. Ultimately the end result is a lovely retreat that the client and family includes intimate seating areas within fragrant flowers and cascading greens. A custom designed pergola provides the perfect amount of shade and style for a charming outdoor dwelling. Not only does this increase the curb appeal of the home, it provides the owners with peaceful place to call their own. The Westchester Colonial is a showcase of attention to detail and quality of work that Renee Byers is known for and a perfect example of outcomes of well thought out landscape design.
