It is not often that we get the opportunity to take out and replace a traditional high-water use lawn with a full ground cover of plants intended to use less than 50% of the original turf; however, this did just that. As soon as we started, we removed the turf and replaced it with plants that each required no more than 50% of the face value of the original turf, effectively reducing the water used on the property by over 60%. In the end, we were able to produce a fantastic outdoor space for the client that they couldn't be happier with; a conservational landscape to retreat to with a comfortable seating area and plant cover for colorful views.
