McQueen Residence - New Construction Fort Collins Colorado Vista Landscape Design, Inc. is excited to present the McQueen Residence, a stunning new build located in Fort Collins. This extensive landscaping combines the modern aesthetic of Colorado with the natural beauty of a Colorado landscape to create a tranquil outdoor living area for the homeowners. The site was completely redesigned with a mix of native plants that thrive in the local ecosystem while staying sustainable and water-wise. A beautiful stone path constructed of locally-sourced flagstone curves through the landscape, directing guests through gardens with lush plants and seating areas. The driveway was completed with permeable pavers, creating an appealing driveway that drains well, considering the unpredictable weather here in Fort Collins. Perhaps the biggest challenge of the was the sloping, uneven nature of the yard. The team was able to establish a multi-tiered garden bed with natural granite boulders as low construction walls to create a visual slope that increased depth and character to the yard. Ultimately this appeal enhances the surrounding garden aesthetic but provided support to the surrounding plants. The end result is a stunning landscape that is a true representation of the creative vision of the clienta perfect example of function mixed with beauty. The outdoor living area includes a custom fire pit with seating for family and friends to enjoy evenings together. A unique aspect of the was the inclusion of low-profile lighting that highlighted certain features of the yard to create a space that can be used night and day.
