Rain Gardens by Wheel & Barrow Landscape Design & Maintenance In the charming landscapes of Sheboygan County, Wheel & Barrow Landscape Design & Maintenance had the pleasure of presenting "Rain Gardens", an innovative landscaping that combined effectiveness with beauty. The serves the communities of Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan, Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls and focuses on stormwater management while improving the curb appeal of the property. The Rain Gardens were thoughtfully designed and constructed with native plants that are well suited to Wisconsin's environment. We chose beautiful perennials, ornamental grasses, and well-distributed boulders because of their ability to absorb and filter rainwater, effectively reducing runoff and improving groundwater recharging. We also included permeable paths made of reclaimed bricks and natural stone to the installation, which enhanced the rustic water garden, and provided proper drainage. The site posed various topography challenges which required creativity and flexibility in establishing an appropriate water flow, and water retention. Our experienced team successfully created the appropriate contours for the garden beds to direct rain runoff to utilize the prepared rain gardens without disrupting the supporting landscape. The final product was stunning! A beautiful, lush garden to enhance the curb appeal and with environmental purpose. The client had expressed happiness when seeing the finished and exclaimed they loved how our Rain Gardens mimicked their home and landscape! This confirms Wheel & Barrow's adherence to quality craftsmanship and commitment to eco-friendly landscaping solutions. With the Rain Gardens we developed an appealing outdoor space, but we also made a beneficial contribution to the local ecosystem.
