### Petaluma Backyard By: Hall Landscape Design Located in the middle of Petaluma, the Petaluma Backyard transformed outdoor living and function with beautiful design. Covering a beautiful pocket of American Canyon, Fairfield, Green Valley, Napa, Sonoma, Suisun City, Vallejo, Yountville, and Santa Rosa, Hall Landscape Design carefully re-imagined a backyard into a calming retreat. Working closely with the clients, the involved a total landscape renovation creating a beautiful multi-level patio using premium, locally sourced natural stone. This beautiful hardscape created continuity through the dense, green surrounding area, for a wonderful space to entertain and unwind. Custom seating walls incorporated l.e.d.'s into the design allowing for open air evening entertaining, with inviting softer lights. To visually connect with the hardscape, we planted various plants that are drought tolerant and size appropriate for the scale of the renovation. We used as many natives as possible were selected to ensure sustainability and to help with maintenance, native to the area, also providing habitat for native species. Finally, we populated the irrigation system mindfully and creatively for irrigation, accounting for environmental conditions. One of the significant challenges to the , was that the yard was on a steep incline. To improve the overall design of the landscape, we levelled out the yard, re-grading, and adjusting drainage to improve stabilization. We introduced a water feature, and we had the ability to introduce a waterfall, creating beautiful picture view, as well as upgrading, as the sound of the water creates a calming auditory experience that leans into the acting of water reflections. There were many things we accomplished and interacted with through design through technical execution, the result is simply stunning for a backyard. Our client has a backyard that became interactive, but also put functionality to a family use..... something beyond what we asked for. It also asks our ourselves; "How can a natural beauty turn into the perfect getaway". Hall Landscape Design takes such pride in the work and the services to create great work, which is true to itself, and the local beauty, but it is all the beauty of our client’s spaces long lasting, as we define it for years to come. The Petaluma Backyard, created a landscape that provides class and trend setting, creating a new model landscaping for the outdoor living in the surrounding area.
