Full Yard Design by Hall Landscape Design Hall Landscape Design is excited to share our 'Full Yard Design' , a design/build we completed for a discerning private homeowner situated in scenic Napa Valley, CA. We serve the vibrant communities of American Canyon, Fairfield, Green Valley, Sonoma, and beyond, and we were engaged to redesign an expansive outdoor space that required functionality as well as beauty. This successfully demonstrated the teaming of hardscaping and softscaping. We built a dramatic stone patio from locally sourced flagstone for a tough but elegant surface to host outside gatherings. To accompany the new patio, we built a meandering pathway of decorative gravel to guide pedestrians throughout the space. Native plants that flourish in our region were selected to flank both sides of the decorative gravel path. Plants such as California lilac and manzanita were selected and planted to enhance the appeal of both the hardscape and the garden, while being suitable for the climate. The slope of the yard was another significant challenge that we faced. We successfully turned the slope into a multi-tiered garden. Using natural boulders, we built retaining walls to create different levels of garden beds, which improved drainage and soil retention, as well as improved the aesthetic appeal of the space. Our team carefully selected an assortment of sustainable materials and drought-resistant plants that were suitable for a California climate. In the middle of the new yard, we also created the inviting fire pit area, an excellent focal point of the whole backyard design and the perfect area for families to gather and enjoy evenings outside together, surrounded by custom seating built from reclaimed wood. Additionally, uplighting was added to highlight the beauty of the plants and outdoor hardscape features while offering safety and ambiance for evening enjoyment. The end result exceeded the homeowner's expectations! It was gratifying to convert a formerly underutilized space into an inviting, vibrant, functional and relaxing home retreat. Through the entire , Hall Landscape Design designed and executed a quality craft that integrated all of the elements in a thoughtful way. This enhanced the aesthetics of the home while acting as a welcoming outdoor space to share with family and friends for years to come!
