Pathways by Rock & Rose Landscapes San Francisco Located in San Francisco, the Rock & Rose Landscapes entitled "Pathways," exemplifies our commitment to great outdoor spaces. The team re-imagined an unremarkable backyard into a tranquil space, where both function and visual beauty met. The included an intricate and twisting layout of pathways, made from locally sourced flagstone and stabilized decomposed granite, to shape and enhance the natural landscape while providing an option that is sustainable, durable, and relevant to the Bay Area's climate. Our team of landscape professionals also faced steepness in the existing landscape and vegetation. Our team expertly tied pathways to landforms, so as to minimize disruption to the existing ecology. We preserved existing mature trees, while newly introduced plants that thrive locally, increased the native plant biodiversity across the landscape while benefiting ongoing maintenance needs. The end result is a beautiful space where a single pathway may lead to an excursion into another carefully curated garden, rich with exuberant blooms, or quiet contemplation, amid the lush plantings. Solar powered lighting was intentionally placed alongside every pathway for safety and a peaceful glow at night. Our clients were particularly pleased with how both beauty and function married well. They found the experience of their newly transformed backyard significantly pleasing while providing greater value to their overall investment.
