The was designed for communities, including Dallas, Highland Park, Oak Lawn, Richardson, and University Park, and our work included rethinking the many facets of the site's landscape by combining form and function. The began with an extensive site analysis to understand the challenges posed by the site's topography and native vegetation. Our talented designers developed a master plan for a multi-tiered garden, which incorporates native plants adapted to the climate and drought-tolerant characteristics for sustainability and low-maintenance requirements. We added carefully designed flower gardens, seasonal and ornamental grasses, and strategic trees for privacy and screening as well as visual interest. We tested a rain garden system to manage the site's drainage issues, using permeable materials for excess rainwater to filter back into the ground naturally. We utilized native stone to create ecological pathways and retaining walls to make the landscape feel more natural, integrating the new landscape into the existing landscape. We carefully selected high-quality, durable hardscaping, such as flagstone patios and decorative gravel to create more usable outdoor spaces. The end product is a peaceful, usable landscape that celebrates the plant materials of Texas, but meets the owner's goal of a low-maintenance garden. The outdoor kitchen leads to lighted paths to entertain fabulous gatherings, while private areas provide serene retreats to enjoy inside and outside the unique home.
