Dog Cove by Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design LLC Located in Stoneham, the 'Dog Cove' aimed to build a perfect getaway for dogs and their owners. We at Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design LLC, pride ourselves on designing outdoor space that is functional and beautiful at the same time. In this , we transformed a simple backyard into a colorful pet paradise. An exciting feature of Dog Cove is the long, custom dog run built with durable, eco-friendly materials. The pathway consists of permeable pavers that encourage proper drainage while also providing a safe, slip-resistant area for dogs to romp and run. The edges of the area are lined with beautiful, native plantings that further invite wildlife to enjoy the space with the pets, bringing a dynamic experience to the dogs and their owners. A challenge that we faced was grade of the yard which would introduce drainage issues. We came up with a creative tiering system that would drain the runoff while providing usable space. This allowed us to install a small splash pool for pets cooling off in the summer months, surrounded by smooth river stones to prevent erosion. In the end, the area was the perfect mix of play and relaxation. The clients were happy to have raised garden beds to grow their own herbs and flowers enhancing the beauty of their outdoor space even more. We also added soft mood lighting to the area, creating nice ambiance for evening walks. Dog Cove has become a beloved destination for pets and people alike. This depicts our commitment to solid craftsmanship and design.
