This , located in the deep hart of Wayland, approached a mixture of challenges and opportunities which allowed us to deliver our expertise in one way. The design process started with a consult to discover the wants of the homeowner in creating a relaxing but functional outdoor area. We imagined that our proposed mix of native plantings, hardscaping features and sustainability measures would create a balanced and synergetic whole, both beautiful and rejuvenating for the natural functioning of the site. The exciting thing this is the naturalistic bluestone patio that we designed and built to blend with the yard's contours, also made with local natural stone. It is a welcoming environment that provides a great spot to gather with friends and family and has a built-in fire pit extending the time spent outdoors as the weather cools down. We put in perennial flower beds all around the patio with bright seasonal flowering varieties because we wanted color year round. We also designed a series of terraced gardens to address the challenge of a steep slope at the rear of the property. Apart from being visually more attractive, those terraces prevent erosion and make it easier to walk from one point A to one point B. We also designed a low water use but also low maintenance irrigation system for easy upkeep of the plantings. Our talented team faced a range of challenges during the , including the site’s existing infrastructure and local regulations. Despite the challenges, our focus on high-quality design and unique solutions meant that we could still provide a stunning landscape which the client was delighted with in the end. The end result is a picturesque and functional outdoor oasis that embodies the homeowners vision, while complementing the natural aesthetics of the Wayland area. Our client was so happy with the end result and how well the new scape offers ease into their lifestyle.
