The steep topography of the site presented the biggest problem for the where it was necessary to do some Grade change or grading for favorable and effective drainage as well as trafficability. The some of the terraced gardens we made with high quality native, local archaic materials served the aesthetic of the landscape and also creatively provided a remedy to the erosion going on site. The utilization of a wide variety of native plants, while maintaining our design standards, displays our commitment to the local ecosystem and community while conserving precious water. The design and garden colors included Texas sage, ornamental grasses and many perennials to help attract native birds and wildlife into the garden to be shared with family & friends. In addition, we carefully constructed a custom stone pathway through the garden, so the family may interact with the garden while leading to a intimate seating area with a custom built fire pit. The family experience and adventure continues with the custom water feature focal point, designed purposefully and significantly into the landscape , which stirs the gentle sounds of water, enabling relaxation in the landscape. Finally, using an authentic, oudoor accessible natural stone for the patio area and retaining walls enabled a complementary relationship to integrate with the surrounding environment, while maintaining sustainable longevity. The finished result is a landscape that coordinates beauty and function in the form of an outdoor concert.
