Oakmont Residence Located in beautiful Sonoma County, the Oakmont Residence is a wonderful example of what can be done when we transform outdoor spaces into peaceful oases. Proudly serving beautiful locales such as Forestville, Fulton, Geyserville and beyond, we began this with a vision of enhancing the property with its natural beauty while carrying out a functional and sustainable landscape. The design includes an amazing native California plant palette that was purposely selected for its hardiness and low water needs. Our team included drought tolerant plants such as lavenders, succulents, and ornamental grasses to create a stunning, low water, and low-maintenance landscape that are suited to our regional climate. To mate the loneliness of the lush plants, we designed and fabricated a meandering pathway made of5884844747 reclaimed stone, ergonomically designed to guide the residents and visitors through various focal points of the garden. Finding an appropriate balance for a sloped property offered many challenges for drainage and soil retention, our team used a stable wall design with locally available boulders and sustainable materials, to create a tiered appearance that respects regional aesthetics integrated into the landscape while also providing structural integrity. To accentuate hardscaping options and give attention to seasonal plantings we used/added tiered planting areas. The water feature becomes the focal point of the Oakmont Residence landscape as it creates a calming presence for family and friends while also attracting local wildlife also keeping the water at a maximum of 48 inches deep which provides the surroundings with an environmental buffer when, occasionally, wildlife will access the pond. The pond was contain rubbly and lined with plant-filled side boats that will complement the ferns used throughout the landscape; litter and debris will wash into the pond, but natural stones will create a barrier and ease of access and compliment the thin edge on ponds and natural stone. Finished beautifully between the aesthetic feel and utility function, the final structure demonstrates our degree of experience and quality construction at Geared for Growing Landscape Services. Our clients communicated that they were completely over the moon upon seeing their outdoor oasis, and graciously appreciated the aesthetic appeal and the sustainable principles put in place. This will document our plan to customize a personal landscape to our client's needs that consider the environmental setting.
