When assigned the task of transforming an average backyard into a restful coastal escape, Team G7 Landscape Designs & Construction spent a considerable amount of time curating every aspect of the backyard, they endeavored to design a modern space that is not only beautiful, but also functional. The features an expansive patio that is all made with an elite porcelain tile that slipped untouchable, thus extending the indoor living experience to outdoors. The soft neutral palette complements the commanding and stunning ocean views while still having sleek lines to create a modern aesthetic. Based on the location of the , the built in fire pit, wrapped in custom seating, is arguably the focal point of the to unwind in and take in the night sky. One of the significant challenges for this was the slope of the site. The design team solved this by incorporating tiered planters, these planters provided structural and aesthetic interest. The planters incorporated a beautiful mix of native drought tolerant plants, which gave each planter a coastal postcard vibe while remaining functional and sustainable. The use of local stone for retaining walls and path limits he texture while tying the built landscape back to the natural landscape. The team also incorporated ambient landscape lighting throughout the that highlighted pathways while illuminating plants to create a year round experience. The result was a stunning resort type oasis that embodied coastal livinelegantly simple, inviting and beautifully modern.
