Situated along the beautiful coastline of Santa Barbara, California, the was designed to maintain the natural beauty of the site, while providing an accessible, and usable outdoor living space for the homeowner. The included a blend of native, drought-resistant plant material, thus creating a lush, yet sustainable landscape that thrives in the Californian environment. We designed elegant hardscaping with natural stone pathways and custom seating, which respected the surrounding natural environment. Our selection of high-quality slip-resistant paver system was ideal for the patio, which allowed for gatherings of family and friends, while providing utility and meeting safety considerations. A challenge presented in the was the steep slope of the site. Our talented team employed 'terracing' to create flat usable space, while respecting the architectural contours of the landscape. There was a careful process of planning and executing to protect against erosion and enhance drainage. An irrigation system was simultaneously installed, which is efficient and consistent with the values of sustainability. Overall, the space resulted in an incredible outdoor oasis that completely embodies the coastal lifestyle. The use of blooming and unique flora, along with comfortable seating, presents itself perfectly to an incredible ocean vista. The clients have successfully undergone the transformation of their landscape, and are excited to spend time creating moments with their family and friends, while enjoying year-round access to their outdoor space.
